Why is this happening?
Internet Explorer 11 is the last version of the Internet Explorer browser, with support having already ended for the previous versions. Previously ReadiNow had placed Internet Explorer in an End of Support phase last year on 25 July 2019, and now it will be moving to an End of Life phase.
What does "End of Support" and "End of Life" mean?
In the "End of Support" phase, this meant the ReadiNow platform was no longer tested with Internet Explorer and issues that only applied to Internet Explorer were not fixed. This meant that Service Desk tickets applying only to Internet Explorer were closed without resolution after the end of support date.
However this will be upgraded to an "End of Life" stage and the Platform will no longer be accessible on Internet Explorer.
When will this happen?
The ReadiNow Platform will cease altogether being accessible using Internet Explorer on 28 May 2020.
Who or what is affected?
Customers using Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser are affected. Customers using the Microsoft Edge browser are not affected.
What should I do?
Users who are accessing the ReadiNow platform with the Internet Explorer browser will need to use a different web browser such as Edge, Chrome or Firefox to continue using the platform. One of these browsers will need to be installed, and depending on the corporate environment this may require intervention from your IT help desk. ReadiNow cannot assist in this process.
The summary steps follow:
Check what is installed
Use the Windows Start menu to search for Edge, Chrome or Firefox to determine if either is already installed. Windows 10 systems will have Edge installed already.
Install a new browser
If neither of the recommended Chrome or Firefox browsers are installed then installation is required; the names of the browsers in this sentence are linked to the pages where these can be downloaded. Restricted permissions may cause the installation to fail: If this happens then contact your IT help desk.
Import bookmarks
One of the options during installation will be to import bookmarks; 'bookmark' is the equivalent of a 'favourite' in Internet Explorer. If you plan on completely ceasing use of Internet Explorer then it is recommended to import bookmarks.
Configuration
Some configuration may be required to get a new browser working on a corporate device or corporate network. Once it is working it will also be necessary to ensure that the regional settings are correct, especially for date and time display. Regional date and time format configuration is described in Browser Settings.
Testing
Finally, try logging into the ReadiNow platform.
